Pre-Approval: Employers must apply for pre-approval through the eTRiS system before conducting the activity.
Minimum Participants: Typically, a minimum of 5 participants is required for team-building programs to be claimable.
Only structured, organized activities that improve relevant workplace skills, such as leadership, communication, and teamwork, are claimable. Purely recreational or entertainment-focused activities (e.g., fun games without skill development objectives) are typically not eligible.

After completion, submit the required documents (attendance sheets, invoices, and evaluation forms) through eTRiS for reimbursement.
Yes, outdoor or offsite team-building events can be claimable as long as they meet HRDF’s criteria, including skill development objectives and pre-approval. However, pure recreational activities or outings that do not focus on training or development will not be claimable.
The amount claimable varies depending on the company’s HRDF levy balance and the cost of the training program. HRDF reimburses based on approved training costs, which include trainer fees, materials, and venue rental (if applicable). Max RM400 per pax per day for meals and Accommodation allowance.
